The Canadian Rockies
The Canadian Rockies are a number of ‘mountain ranges’ on the western side of Canada. The two areas are the Northern Rockies and the Continental Ranges with many mountains such as Mount Columbia and Mount Robson, the snow dome, Mount Temple and more.
If you are not an experienced mountain climber then there are many national parks to explore at a lower level some of which are listed as world heritage sites so are fully protected. This area of outstanding natural beauty also offers waterfalls, lakes, glaciers and caves so exploring with a tour guide is recommended.
Places to visit and stay in the Rockies are Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Canmore, Waterton and Golden.
The possibilities for outdoor activities are endless but the main ones are white water rafting, Canoeing , skiing in Banff or Whistler, hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and fishing.
