Giza Pyramids, Egypt
On the outskirts of Cairo there is an ancient site of monuments called Giza necropolis that includes the Giza Pyramids recognized as the oldest of the seven ancient wonders of the world.
The pyramids were said to have been built as tombs in 2560 BC for an Egyptian dynasty. The Pyramids remain intact and are still open for visitors to explore the three chambers and passage ways.
Other sites of interest include the sculpture of the Great Sphinx.
