Ayers Rock – Uluru
Ayers Rock – Uluru is a large sandstone Rock in the Uluru-kata Tjuta National Park in the Northern Territories area of Australia. This World Heritage site is a sacred place to local Aboriginal people where you will find ancient paintings in caves at the base of the rock. There are tour guides who can provide a full history and narrative of the area taking tourists around the base of the rock and to the neighboring Olgas.
The rock is quite a spectacular place at sunset as visitors marvel over the many changing colours of the rock as the sun goes down.
The Rock is in a remote location with the nearest town of Alice Springs over 200 miles East of the Rock.
Tours to the Rock will include a stop over in the colourful town of Alice Springs.
