Hi I’m Paul,
Travel has been my passion since I first took my mountain bike and a good friend for an adventure around Europe in 1993. From then on I was hooked and spent over ten years travelling and working my way around the World. I worked lots of different jobs, from a cocktail barman in Hong Kong, a house painter in Los Angeles to various jobs in Australia on building sites, fairgrounds and in offices. I wanted to see as much of the World as possible.
In all I managed to fit in 33 countries in Europe, North and South America, the Far East, Australasia and Africa. Although I still wanted to see more, so when it was finally time to grow up and settle down I started a career in travel and got a job with Trailfinders. After a great time working there and learning my trade I moved to Brighton and secured a job with American Express Centurion card. I was in charge of creating holidays for holders of the iconic and exclusive black card, in charge of helping the companies most important v.i.p’s with their personal and business travel needs.
In 2004 I decided I wanted to set up my own travel company and so Travel Action was born. I was soon organising trips for over 500 people per year and in the first ten years I had booked over £3 million pounds worth of holidays for my customers.
With Worldtravelplanner I wanted to offer something more and combine a personal travel service with a concierge service and so offer a select few clients and companies an enhanced service not available with online travel agents, or even high street travel agents. If people want a cheap week in Benidorm then this is not going to be for them. It is aimed at the more discerning traveller that doesn’t do package holidays and are looking for something special or unique. The majority of my bookings are for returning clients or from recommendations. Positive feedback from every trip is essential to me and Worldtravelplanner and each trip I help organise is as important to me as it is to my customer.
Last year I was asked by The Lifestyle Library, a glossy UK print and online magazine to write regular monthly features for their travel section. I like to share my knowledge and expertise and enjoy writing for this great magazine. Take a look at the online versions here….
SNOWBOARDER, GOLFER AND FAMILY MAN….
My love of travel is as strong now as it was 25 years ago on my first adventure. Although now my taste in accommodation and need of a little luxury has changed. I try to get away as much as possible to explore new destinations and test out new hotels so I can help give advice to customers looking to go to these places. That is my excuse anyway.
I am a keen snowboarder and I try to get away every year for at least one trip to the slopes. Off piste is a passion and I am finally getting to go heli-skiing this season.
I have also played golf since I was 11 and play to a fairly high standard (most of the time). I do love to get away and play some top quality courses around the UK and abroad. Although more recently it has been more family orientated trips away with my wife and 4 year old daughter and Disney is on the cards for 2018.
Although I am definitely no David Bailey I have always been a keen amateur travel photographer. Take a look at some of my travel pics here, you may see somewhere you like the look of. I will keep adding pics after each new trip now and also try to add some from the old days, although these are currently still on old fashioned slide or negatives.
