Disneyworld twin centre options
A trip that all kids and the young at heart will remember forever
Disneyworld in Florida is the World’s most famous theme park and a right of passage for every child. A family holiday to Disneyworld is a true bucket list adventure and you can make it even more special. Combine a week at Disney with other amazing places.
What are the best places to combine with a week at Disneyworld though? Here are some of the best…
DISNEY & UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
You don’t have to travel too far for a great fun Disney twin centre holiday. Just down the road is Universal Studios, another fantastic theme park and home to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Plus there is Universal Islands of Adventure with plenty of Jurassic Park themed attractions and some really hairy rides. Volcano Bay is one of Orlando’s best waterparks, with lots of fun slides and attractions all set around a huge volcano. Like Disney, they have their own fantastic hotels within the park where guests benefit from extra park time and perks. If you stay at one of the official Universal hotels you have access to all three parks.
DISNEY & CLEARWATER BEACH
A great option If you want to combine your Disney trip with the beach but don’t want to travel far. Clearwater is a stunning beach on the Gulf of Mexico, less than a 2 hour drive away from Orlando. One of the best beaches in Florida, with miles of sparkling soft white sands. Great for families the crystal clear waters here are safe, calm and incredibly warm. The area has lot’s going on and plenty of great restaurants and accommodation options from beachfront luxury hotels to private villas with pools.
DISNEY & MIAMI
Miami is a great place to visit after your fun at Disney. Miles of white sand beaches and the World famous nightlife of South Beach. You might want to take a trip into the everglades to see the Gators and ride an air boat. Or head on down to the stunning Florida Keys. You have a wide choice of hotels along Miami beach and South beach. You might want a large resort style hotel right on the soft white sands, or chic designer hotels in the heart of buzzing South Beach.
You can drive down to Miami in just three hours and it is a nice drive. Car rental companies will allow you to pick up in Orlando and drop in Miami. If you didn’t want to drive you can hop on a flight which only takes an hour.
DISNEY & CARIBBEAN CRUISE
if you get down to Miami or fort Lauderdale then why not jump on a fun and exciting Caribbean Cruise. There are some truly amazing ships these days that cater to families. These huge floating cities have all sorts of activities onboard to keep the whole family busy. Enjoy exploring the beautiful tropical Caribbean islands beaches and colourful towns. Relax on a beach or by the ships pool under the tropical sun. or join in onboard activities for fun and excitement. Maybe scale the climbing wall, try your hand at surfing or brave the thrilling zip line. Evenings are spent enjoying delicious meals, sipping cocktails and watching flamboyant shows. I recommend Royal Caribbean for the best family friendly cruises and best onboard activities.
DISNEY & NEW YORK
The city that never sleeps. On your way to Disney stopover in the World’s most famous city. Climb to the top of the Empire State building, cross the Brooklyn bridge and check out Central Park. Take a boat over to see the Statue of Liberty up close or jump on the subway out to Coney Island for the day. New York is a shoppers paradise where you can browse cool flea markets, head to the outlet cities, splash out in designer boutiques or visit famous stores like Macy’s or Bloomingdales.
The choice of accommodation in New York is mind boggling. There is something for every taste and every budget, from small designer boutique hotels, to private apartments or luxury landmark hotels.
The flight down from New York to Orlando is only around 2 hours 45 minutes. There are plenty of direct flights to and from New York and Orlando.
DISNEY & LAS VEGAS
Las Vegas has been described as Disneyworld for adults. Whether you like gambling or not doesn’t really matter as Vegas is an incredible exciting mix of vast casinos, luxury themed hotels and fun things to see and do. If you can tear yourself away from the glitz of the famous strip then you could visit the Hoover Dam or Lake Mead. Or maybe take a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon. Where will you stay though? Maybe the French themed Paris Resort & Casino? Or the Venetian with its Canals and Gondolas, or the elegant and Luxurious Bellagio. The famous Strip has some of the best hotels in the World.
The flight from Orlando to Vegas takes around 4 hours 20 minutes and there are direct flights back to the UK from there.
DISNEY & LOS ANGELES
Great for a stay either before or after Disney. Visit famous Hollywood and check out the star studded boulevard. Go people watching on a stroll along the boardwalk from Venice to Santa Monica and check out Muscle Beach or the famous pier. You could even check out Disneyland and compare the two parks. Los Angeles is huge so you will probably want to choose if you want to stay by the beach, in Hollywood or near the theme parks. There are lots of hotels, apartments and villas to choose from.
Direct flights from Orlando to LA take around 4 hours 30 minutes. You can combine direct flights from the UK to Orlando and a direct flight back from LA.
