6 The Rocky Mountaineer
Rocky Mountaineer is undoubtedly the most spectacular train trip in North America. There are a selection of journeys to choose, from the two day trips from Vancouver to Jasper, lake Louise or Banff. To the full circle routes that combine two or three of the other routes into a longer tour of six or more nights.
Your trip takes you through the heart of the Rockies enjoying the dramatic wild landscapes. soon out of Vancouver you will see winding river canyons which are surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and also Cascade Mountains. The journey continues into the lush green fields of the Fraser River Valley. The first night is spend in the former gold mining town of Kamloops before you continue your journey deeper into the mountains the next morning. Watch the lush mountain scenery roll by as you travel through the Continental Divide, the river valleys of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, and past Mount Robson the highest peak in the Rockies.
There are two levels of service on the trains. Silverleaf and Goldleaf. The main difference is the viewing cars bigger all round windows and the outdoor view platform is much bigger.
